Roseau, Dominica – The vibrant sounds of Creole culture are set to fill the air as Dominica prepares to host the 25th anniversary of its signature World Creole Music Festival (WCMF). Scheduled from October 24 to 26, 2025, at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium in the capital city of Roseau, this milestone event promises three electrifying nights celebrating a rich tapestry of music, heritage, and Caribbean unity.

Under the commemorative theme “Global Echoes of the Nature Island: Celebrating 25 Years of Creole Music, Magic, and Memories,” this year’s festival aims to not only honor its past quarter-century but also to solidify Dominica’s position as a leader in cultural tourism and artistic innovation. The WCMF, established in 1997, was conceived with the dual purpose of fostering Dominica’s music and arts industries while simultaneously promoting the island as a premier tourism destination. It traditionally marks the culmination of Creole Heritage Month and leads into Dominica’s Independence celebrations.

Initially launched to bolster tourism during a quieter period and provide a platform for indigenous Dominican music like Cadence-lypso and Bouyon, the festival has evolved to embrace a broad spectrum of Creole and Caribbean musical genres. Over the years, it has hosted acclaimed artists performing Zouk, Konpa, Soukous, Zydeco, Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Calypso, and Afrobeat, drawing over 10,000 patrons and numerous regional and international media partners annually. Night One – Fire & Foundation (Friday, October 24) will pay tribute to the pioneers and powerhouses who have shaped Caribbean music. The evening’s performances are set to feature Antiguan soca legends Burning Flames, alongside Dominican artists Midnight Groovers, Halibut, Gilles Fontaine, and TK International. The lineup also includes Nu Look from Haiti/USA, Jamaica’s Romain Virgo, Oswald from St. Maarten, and the UK/Jamaica-based reggae band Steel Pulse.

Night Two – Creole Carnival (Saturday, October 25) promises a high-energy celebration of Creole rhythm and Caribbean connection. This night’s roster includes Dominican acts Asa Bantan, WCK, The Bouyon Assembly, First Serenade, Gordon Henderson, Ophelia Marie, and Lynford John. They will be joined by Haiti/France’s Joé Dwét Filé, Trinidad and Tobago’s Kes The Band, and Jamaican dancehall stars Spice and Vybz Kartel.

Night Three – The Grand Finale (Sunday, October 26) will close the festival with a world-class ensemble. Headlining this final night are Nigerian superstar Tiwa Savage and Trinidadian powerhouses Bunji Garlin & Fay-Ann Lyons. The closing acts also feature a strong Dominican presence with Extasy Band, Michele Henderson, Elisha Benoit, Trilla G, Nice, Reo, and Shelly & Signal Band. Adding to the international flair are St. Lucian performer Ezra “Da Fun Machine” and the iconic Kassav’ from Guadeloupe and Martinique.
