London’s West End is set to welcome a familiar and beloved story to the stage with the announcement of the full cast and creative team for the premiere production of CLUELESS, The Musical.

Set to begin performances on February 15, 2025, at the Trafalgar Theatre, the highly anticipated musical adaptation of the iconic 1995 film prepares for its debut, coinciding not only with the 30th Anniversary of the original Clueless film’s release but also the 250-year Anniversary of the birth of Jane Austen, whose novel Emma served as inspiration for the movie’s narrative.

Bringing Beverly Hills to the West End Stage

The creative force behind the original cinematic hit, Writer-Director Amy Heckerling, is penning the book for the new musical, ensuring a direct connection to the source material’s unique voice and humour. The musical’s score is described as embracing a modern, musical vibe, thoughtfully blending the distinctive spirit of the 1990s with a contemporary sound palette.

The music has been crafted by the acclaimed GRAMMY Award® winner and three-time Tony Award® nominee Glenn Slater. Complementing Slater’s compositions are lyrics by GRAMMY Award® winner and three-time Tony Award® nominee Stephen Trask, known for his work on Hedwig and the Angry Inch. This combination of experienced musical theatre and award-winning talent aims to create a score that resonates with both fans of the original film and contemporary theatregoers.

Directing the West End production is Rachel Kavanaugh, whose vision will guide the show’s staging.
