CHICAGO – Riot Fest, the annual music festival known for its eclectic mix of punk, rock, alternative, and hip-hop acts, has announced the full lineup for its highly anticipated 2025 event. Marking the festival’s 20th anniversary, the three-day extravaganza is scheduled to take place from September 19 through September 21 in its established home at Douglass Park within Chicago’s North Lawndale neighborhood.
The announcement confirms a roster of major headlining artists, promising a landmark celebration for the festival’s two-decade milestone. The headlining slots are filled by genre-defining acts:
Festival Headliners Revealed
Friday, September 19, will feature a performance from pop-punk titans Blink-182. Saturday, September 20, boasts a double headliner bill with alternative rock stalwarts Weezer and acclaimed musician Jack White. The festival will conclude on Sunday, September 21, with a closing set from punk rock legends Green Day.
Beyond the top-billed artists, the lineup showcases a diverse array of talent spanning multiple generations and styles. Attendees can expect to see performances from renowned artists such as Weird Al Yankovic, known for his satirical musical parodies; Irish punk icons Dropkick Murphys; and the influential experimental rock band Sparks. The bill also includes notable acts like Idles, All Time Low, Rilo Kiley, members of the Sex Pistols, Alkaline Trio, Jawbreaker, Bad Religion, Gym Class Heroes, The Hold Steady, The Pogues, and the legendary The Beach Boys.
Securing a Future in Douglass Park
The 2025 festival also underscores a significant development regarding its location. Following periods of uncertainty and logistical challenges in past years, Riot Fest recently solidified its future in Douglass Park by signing an agreement with the city of Chicago. This accord ensures the festival will continue to be held in the park through at least 2027.
The path to this stable agreement involved navigating previous difficulties concerning permits and community relations. These issues briefly led to the festival relocating from Douglass Park to SeatGeek Stadium in suburban Bridgeview for its 2024 iteration. However, after resolving the permitting matters and engaging in further dialogue, the festival successfully returned to Douglass Park, where it was held for the 2024 event and is now confirmed to remain for the foreseeable future under the new agreement.
